The Virus of the Mind
The one thing a truly conscious person will never allow to enter their mind is hatred. Why? Because hatred acts as a virus—once loaded against any entity, it makes the host entirely blind.
The subject of hatred will always be seen through a heavily biased lens. Any decision made regarding that entity becomes solely focused on destroying, suppressing, resisting, or avoiding it.
The Wall of Resentment
Imagine a friend who suddenly harbors intense resentment toward you over a simple misunderstanding—perhaps a misconstrued text message or a baseless rumor. No matter how much you try to clarify your stance, the perception in their mind has become absolute. The hatred acts as a wall, shutting down all logic. They will never give you a chance to explain because hatred refuses to listen.
This bitterness throws the mind into imbalance, rooted in a confined and narrow view of life. A mature, wise person observes this trap and actively refuses to hate anyone or anything.
Justice Without Bitterness
You might ask: what about a hardcore criminal? Shouldn't we hate criminals?
The answer is no. This does not mean their crimes should be forgiven or ignored. It simply means that the punishment must be delivered in full consciousness, not out of blind hatred.
When a judge hands down a severe sentence, they do not do it because they hate the individual. It is a purely conscious judgment; if such a person remains free, innocent lives are at risk. For the greater good of society, wiser people in positions of power must make tough decisions.
Similarly, when a soldier fights an enemy, they act out of a duty to protect their nation, not out of personal hatred.
The Mask of Mockery
Just as love is blind, so is hatred. In modern times, we see this constantly on social media, often masked as mockery.
If someone harbors deep resentment for a popular leader simply because the leader's worldview challenges their own exclusive ideology, they will constantly resort to ridicule. Because they cannot logically justify their blind hatred, they hide behind mockery to express it.
We must introspect. We must ask ourselves if there is any hatred within us—what it is, and why it exists. This self-analysis cultivates critical thinking and an inclusive mindset, eventually leading to amazing personal transformation.
Identify one person or group you feel strong resentment toward. Become curious about the root of that feeling, and consciously choose to separate your disagreement with them from the emotional poison of hatred.
